What is commodity hardware in Hadoop?

When we say about commodity hardware its a low-cost system which is identified as low-quality and low availability. And this commodity hardware comprises of RAM to perform number of service which require RAM for the execution. As this doesnot require high-end hardware configuration or supercomputers to run Hadoop as this can be run on any commodity hardware.
